The Pet Planner you never knew you needed until now ...

I created My Pet Planner because I needed a structured notebook for my own dogs that held details of their complex routines in case anyone ever needed to care for them in the short-term.

As I got the bit between my teeth, I realised I had a good idea.

Pet Planner competition

I looked at competition and realised that although there were other pet planners out there, they were standard, simple and unstructured.

Most were digital downloads with no creator experience behind the brands.

As a pet owner since a child, and a business owner for over 30 years, I had the experience to know what content mattered and what would be useful and not simply there as a filler.

I set about jotting down the essential content that mattered to me. 

Multi dog homes & the importance of happy dogs

For me the most important aspect of any day was making sure all my dogs got along and that there were no arguments. So, daily & walking routine were important sections.

Special Dietary Needs

Secondly, having two dogs with special dietary needs, I needed to make sure that these dogs were fed the correct food, how much and when. 

Avoidance of compromised welfare

I have two dogs that are on medication every day, to miss their tablets would mean their welfare would be compromised. Both would be itchy and one would have a serious ear flare up, neither of which I want to happen. 

The Original Goal

My original goal was simple: a practical, easy-to-use planner that holds all the important stuff in one place without filling with pages that carried no importance.

I have one pride of place in the kitchen that is filled out with all current care notes.

Care notes, dietary details, routines, behaviour quirks, vet info, medication, emergency contacts, and end of life wishes. Not in a scary way, just in a calm, organised way that helps you feel prepared rather than panicked.

My Pet Planner became my one-stop log and journal. It gave me peace of mind, because if I ever couldn’t be there, anyone stepping in to care for my dogs would have clear guidance and the right information straight away. No guessing, no searching through messages, no “I think it was this food…”, just a plan you can trust.

It is also a space for the nice bits. Memories, milestones, little notes you’d otherwise forget, and the everyday things that make your pet your bestie.
